The Bodensee

Because it's Friday, I figured I better go ahead and post about LAST weekend...finally!

We got back from Rome, spent one day unpacking, doing laundry, and most importantly, SLEEPING, before we took off to Lake Constance (or in German- Bodensee).

Ryan has a super cool colleague, Andreas, who likes to say "dude" and seems to have the biggest heart ever. He and his wife were kind enough to invite us to their home on the lake.

It was absolutely gorgeous there.

This is the vacation spot for many Germans, Swiss, and Austrians who live near here. This lake lays on the border of all three countries.

I couldn't find a good map so I drew the lake myself. That isn't really the shape of it, but you get the point.

Sometimes I think about all the adventures we have here, and I think that so often, our favorite memories are those shared with new friends we've made over here.

Andreas took this picture. Check out those vineyards. I often wonder if the Germans love beer or wine more. It really depends on the day and the fest!

You know I love those German buildings!

Would you ever stay at a hotel with a name like "Bad Hotel?"

Good thing we didn't have to!

Andreas and his wife took us to this wonderful little wine cellar restaurant where we got great food and great wine. The best part was the great company, though!

Gorgeous. If I ever a)get enough money b)get a passport and c) get over my fear of being a plane for that long, I would be on your doorstep begging for a "Laura's"-tour of Germany.
