When we got to the Munich main train station, we had no clue where the actual fest was. So, we decided to follow them...

They didn't disappoint!

When we went in, we got a Bratwurst and drenched it with mustard. Yum Yum. Then we proceeded to walk. It was crowded, but not too bad. We got to look at all the extravagant tents. They really go all out.

Can you see me?

Oktoberfest is so popular, that getting a seat inside one of these tents is almost impossible. Even reservations aren't always honored. It is just one big party and you have to go with the mindset that you weren't really invited!

We didn't care. We have fun everywhere we go. Here is a sneak peak inside one of the tents. Of course, you HAVE to dance on the tables.
After that, things took a turn for the worst. It was like the sky opened up and every person who is an obnoxious drunk appeared and all around ME. It got super crowded. Here was my view.
I really hate crowds. I am not talking lines and waiting. I am talking pushing, shoving, beer chugging, loud, obnoxious crowds. I hate trying to walk and all I can see is people in every direction and I have no idea why no one is moving.

It was funny that it was noon and so many people were already passed out.

We had a lot of fun. I think I got a little spoiled last year because we went to Volksfest. It is just like Oktoberfest but less crowded. That way you can go in all the tents and dance on the tables. You know, the important things. You can read about our adventure at Volksfest last year, here. Or, you can just hold your horses because we are going back this week. I will of course post about it!

looks like a GREAT time!!! i want to go to germany!!! my god-sister is stationed there and i need to jump on a military flight and head on over before they move back to the states!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. It looks like you are having a wonderful time at Oktoberfest, I wish I was there too! Your anniversary is on my birthday, how crazy is that. My husband and I both miss A&M, we loved it there and hope to go back soon. Take care, I am now a follower.
What a fun experience. I hate big crowds, too. I'm small, and I must disappear in crowds because people always run over me.
We never went to Oktoberfest during the three years we were in Germany...but it just doesn't seem like fun to me. I know several people who have been thrown-up on at Oktoberfest. That was enough to make me want to pass :)
That sounds like so much fun!!! I love how people just pass out wherever! And at least you didn't get barfed on. That's definitely a worry when it's crowded and you're shorter than everyone else. :)
Hey!! I'm glad you had a good time! We made the mistake of going on the first day when the mayor tapped the first keg..... Oh, boy.... Talk about crowded!! I hope you tried some of the roasted almonds!! They were AMAZING!!!!
Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun! I HATE crowds too. Especially when it is hot outside!! Have a great week!!
I just read your comments! There is NOW a Victoria's Secret in Germany!!! YES!! There's a new BX/PX called the KMCC on Rammstein, 5 minutes from my house. They put in the first VS store (if you want to call it a store...)/area ever to go inside AAFES! They don't have all the kinks worked out yet. They are waiting for the 5/25 panties deal, larger selection of bras, more clothes, and so on! I DID pick up a cute pair of VS Pink boot slippers!! :D
Wow! What a fun time!
I would not have been able to deal with the drunken crowds either! Looks like fun though.
Wow! That is SO COOL that you got to go to Oktoberfest-in Germany!! However, I understand what you are saying about the drunken crowds. The older I get, the less I tolerate drunks! Glad you had fun!
Wow! That's a lot of people, but it looked like fun! :) I hate drunken, pushing crowds, too!
Looks like fun! I love the pic of the people in the train station.
