The United States of America.
There are few places that I feel more myself than in Orlando, at my grandparents' kitchen table drinking my Papa's iced tea, that contains lethal amounts of sugar. While I get buzzed off the sugar, we talk about all the matters of the world....like a new flower in their garden or what the neighbors are up to.
And. I. Love. It.
When I go home to Florida {I call Texas and Florida home}{you're welcome Mom}, I am no longer "Laura". I am "LauraAnn." All one word and spoken with the sweetest southern twang. It takes all of 10 minutes for me to harness my inner twang and join in.
Florida is also the only place that I keep meeting relatives I never knew I had. I can't tell you how many times we have to stop at the mall or restaurant and talk to some (random) person. Upon ending the conversation, they extend their hand and say, "Hey LauraAnn, I don't know if you remember me, but I'm your cousin."
And. I. Love. It.
I felt kind of guilty for planning a trip to Florida when our immediate families live in Texas. But, to my surprise, they are all flying out to Florida to see us! So, rightfully so, we are going to have a big 'ole Bar-B-Q. There will be food. There will be fun. There will be drama. There will be family.
And. I. Love. It.
Every. Dadgum. Minute.
Here is a video of the cutest Papa in the whole wide world singing a song he used to sing to all of us as kids. I'm sorry all you other grandpa's out there, mine is the cutest.

I am also a double named child. Everyone I see when I go home refers to me using both names and it is quite nice.

We were in Orlando in the middle of September visiting Rebecca. From her front porch we can watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. How close to Disney World are your grandparents? Are you going to the food and wine festival? Enjoy your time in the good old USA. Is Debbie coming to visit too?
Why LauraAnn I am sooo happy that you get to come home for a visit. How delightful that your families are meeting you in Florida. You will have such a great time.
I can relate you what you say. When I talk to my Texas family I am always LuraLynn...said with the Texas twaing which I pick up every time I talk to them on the phone. Funny huh!
Have a great trip and visit...and yes your grandpa is about the cutest ever!!! John's dad always played the gitar and fiddle at our family events. He was darling too. Your video reminds me of him. He has been gone for years but when my kids get together they often talk about Grandpa's songs and fiddle music. I am sure that you will never forget your cute grandpa....get a video collection of his songs. Have a great trip. Love, Lura
