Israel was one of the those places that make you stand there for a second and say, "Am I really here?" It was such a nice country and the people were so friendly. We saw all the historical biblical sites and each one was more humbling than the next.
Our first stop was Haifa which is near the top of the country. They say Israel is big enough to fit into Lake Michigan 3 times. It is very small, but full of so much history!
Our first stop was the Sea of Galilee. We went to the place where Jesus performed the sermon on the mount. Wow! I was singing all those Wee Sing songs the whole time.

All of the these historical places have churches built on or near them. This church was built around the spot where Jesus used the 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread to feed the multitudes.

That is the rock he used. Can you see the mosaic on the floor with the fish and loaf of bread?
So then we headed over to Capernaum and saw a church where Jesus preached.

Next, we went to the Jordan River to the spot where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Isn't the river gorgeous?

I look like I have such an attitude in this picture! Nope, not me. Never.

Anyway, then we went to Nazareth to another one of Mary's houses. This was the house she lived in with her family when the angel of the Lord appeared to her to tell her she was going to give birth to our savior.

You have to look toward where the people are congregated to see the house. On the left is where they are still excavating. The picture below is the house up close once we walked down there.

Then from here we walked over to see the house that Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lived in. It was underground and you couldn't see all of it...but here is a little view.

And since every post about this trip thus far has ended with a food or drink blurb, here is a picture of the Coke in Israel.

I thought it looked cool, but we all know about my obsession.
