Monday, Monday

I used to dread Sunday nights. I would have to think about what I was going to wear on Monday, what I needed to do at work, and just basically starting another week. I also hate it when you can't go to sleep until late, because of all the sleeping-in you did over the weekend.

However, I never thought I hear myself say this, but I love Mondays. It's Sundays that I dread.

I love that Ryan is home on Sundays, however, in Germany it feels like the world stops. First of all, everything is closed.

Grocery stores are closed. Pharmacies are closed. Shops are closed. Basically, everyone stays at home and has a family day.

I love that there is a day dedicated to family. But, I also wish they didn't have to shut the rest of the country down to do it. Saturdays have become very stressful for me. I act like the world is going to end and stock up on every possible thing we might need. It's crazy.

After almost 18 months, I have gotten a little more used to it and plan accordingly. Plus, some restaurants are open (including McDonald's) for a food emergency. And- of course- most gas stations are open during the day.

I love when Monday morning comes because it's like the world starts spinning again. And I like my world to spin.

I do, however, think that I'll miss this when we move home. I know, I need to make up my mind. I'm actually getting used to constantly feeling conflicted. But, there is just something really special in knowing that once a week, the world stops, and all that matters is my little family.

wow, everything being closed would drive me crazy! The only day I don't mind that is on Christmas--I'm too busy to care anyway ;) haha. I like my world a with a little bit of hustle and bustle, too haha

I think it is so great that you get this time with just you and your husband. Enjoy every minute of it!

Laura, we were JUST talking about the whole being closed (and being really quiet around here!!) on Sundays, in my German class this morning. My German explained that the Germans do not know any different, so it's not a big deal. I know that Zev especially misses his Sunday afternoon time. After church, one of our favorite activities in Louisiana was to go to Bass Pro Shops afterwards. Zev misses Bass Pro. I do too in an odd way! I am looking forward to see you soon! Fi ;-)

I hated that when I was overseas! Everything would close earlier in the evenings and I always found something that I needed as soon as the stores closed! Haha!
